I am constantly searching for an emotional balance between my art practice and its relationship with every day life. Recently I have discovered a new form of self-expression as I weave found domestic and industrial objects together creating complex patterns that are conceal under a thick blanket of paint. These paintings and companion Haikus represent my emotions hovering between the known and the unknown of my life.

| ENVY—punctured wide open, icy shards slash at reason, I am overwhelmed | REGRET— pulled and stretched within, a cold blanket of sorrow, covers me in shame. | NAVIGATE—my steps hesitate, I move forward regardless, walking a fine line. | GRIEVE—layers of time shift, I am anchored to the ground, static in despair. |

| HOPE—lightweight as paper, I float through reality, a new dawn awakes. | SURPRISE—three wishes granted, in a forest of delight, fuelled by desire. | COMPASSION—anguish and distress, enclosed by layers of gray, a hand extended. | LUST—combustible joy, without consideration, of consequences. |

| REJECTED—howling with anguish, blows an invisible wind, linking the shadows. | CALM—bird song on the wind, soft light brakes open the day, problems disappear. | TRUST—perching on the edge, eyes closed I proceed forward, life is a free fall. | NERVOUS—skin incased with pins, life’s unseen edges collide, smashed out of control. |

| HELPLESS—caught in a vortex, far beyond my horizons, I am powerless. | OPTIMISTIC—laced with confidence, renewed possibilities, lift the dark shadows. | DISGRACED—words fall upon me, carpeted with opinions, I become hidden. | THRILLED—fissures gouge the ground, the excess of joy exposed, I am lifted up. |

| ARDENT—bright light surrounds me, everything is possible, silhouettes of life. | STARTLED—the air cracks open, tumbling through the layers, I have no purchase. | SECURE—solid on the ground, sheltered, safe and protected, I move step by step. | VIBRANT—reverberating, echoing a change world, laced with energy. |

| BAFFLED—floating off the grid, bewildered by etiquette, always out of sync. | AWKWARD—too large for the space, always pushing at the seams, constrained and enclosed | WORTHLESS—forever constrained, the burden of history, is the air I breath. | DELIGHTED—effervescent life, tumbles along the roadway, potholes of sparkle. |

| LOST—concealed under cover, my world forever private, a forgotten space. | EXPOSED—peeled and sliced opened, the wind of change lifts me up, remade and transformed | ELATED—my own desires, suspended reality, fanciful impulse. | CURIOUS—dancing through the dark, abstract starlight above me, a sky of wishes. |
